This interactive map displays all of Generation Plants in the United States with a Nameplate Capacity of 10MW or higher operating in 2019. Each point is color-coded by the plants generation technology. By clicking on each point, you can view the following information:
  • Nameplate Capacity
  • Percent Contribution to State and RTO/ISO/FERC Markets
  • Capacity Factor
  • Generation technology
  • Generation in Megawatt-hours
  • Fuel usage in it's specified quantity
  • CO2 emissions in US Tons
Note: For Plants with multiple generation configurations, multiple points will appear in the area, with each point corresponding to a different generation technology.

Data for this map is compiled using EIA Form 860, as well as RTO/ISO/FERC Market Area information available on the FERC Website.
Data on CO2 emissions uses thermal data from the EIA Form 923, as well as emissions data from the EPA
